Unordered again
- found a problem with XBL... In some weird cases, the constructor is not executed and I can't understand why; hey reader, any idea ?
- this blocks a bit my image resizer for the mail composition, I'm on a workaround :-(
- manager's law number 1: if when you ask something to someone in your team, you often feel the need to check the answer asking a second person, you should consider dropping your managerial role
- manager's law number 2: managers can often be replaced instantaneously; engineers rarely can. Engineers can be laid off, that's different. In that case, they're almost always badly replaced

IHT--
Sad day for the International Herald Tribune. The NY Times ousted the Washington Post from there and it remains the only chief onboard. From my reader's point of view, that's a deeply stupid decision from the NYT. Of course, the NYT says it's to make it better, and we are excited at the opportunities and bla bla. Same bla bla when there are lay-offs or crazy reorgs by the way.

Power of XBL again - Image fitting
I'm sure you know this feature of MSIE that most users like: when the browser renders an image/* object and if the size of the image is greater than the viewport's, the image is resized and a special handle appears to make it get its original size. I have did that in XBL for Mozilla. Works fine. Of course, that's done through XBL. Very easy. No, in fact, I could say trivial. It's trivial.

Do they need XHTML 2 or XML ?
Tristan wonders if XHTML is really needed and gives a positive argument taken from someone else. But in fact, that article only says that Alta-Vista needs a correct XMLization of HTML. It's not antithetic with the fact that XHTML 2.0 is a bad document model, having nothing really interesting when compared to HTML 4.01. The only good points about XHTML 2.0 are the XMLization and the removal of presentational elements. That can be done in a much better document model than XHTML 2.0.

Trash-ships
I have just reserved a rental house on the south-west coast of France for July 2003 and guess what's happening there...
Last minute: another tanker had an accident tonight, in the Channel; 70,000 tons of oil inside. Hey guys, you have hit the south and the north of the country, why don't you send a third oil slick to Brittany now?

Rome was not built in one day
Reading again the Lives of the 12 Caesars, by Suetone. And the record of Zhang Quian's travels, in 128 BC. Yum yum.
